Miranda Magaña

A tireless warrior against cancer at only 6 years old, Miranda completed 1 and a half years of chemotherapy and radiation treatment; trying to beat it and get ahead. She finished her long treatment and like a warrior she always finished with a smile, full of joy, faith, excited to return to school like all the girls her age, and above all, happy because her hair would grow back. Weeks later, Miranda enters the emergency hospital again, with pain in her abdomen. She never imagined that the cancer would come back so quickly and even more aggressive. Cancer was found in the same place, the skin that covers part of the stomach and intestine and previously in the bladder. Most of us at FOB are mothers and we would never think of going through a test as heavy as this. A single mother, who cannot work to take care of her daughter day and night... week after week.

Miranda had just one dream and Mexicanas en Michigan Foundation was able to make it come true. Miranda always dreamed of her princess bedroom, a white bed, pink walls, lots of glitter and crowns. In June, 2013 Mexicanas en Michigan with the help of the Mexican Fiesta restaurant organized to donate clothes, shoes, decorations, rugs, paintings, tables among other things to deliver the bedroom of her dreams.

Now Daniella has the extra help she needs to excel at school - and life.
